The Oscars

The 25th Academy Awards hosted by Bob Hope at the RKO Pantages Theatre on Thursday, March 19, 1953, honoring movies released in 1952. This was the first televised Oscar ceremony. "High Noon" was only the third movie to win for both Song and Score; the previous two were "The Wizard of Oz" and "Pinocchio."
