The face is stenciled with a floral pattern (sorry, I can't tell you what kind of flowers they are supposed to be). The "binding around the face and sound hole is painted on, but the pearl dots on the fingerboard are real. Here is the back. The peg head is slotted. The nut is made of wood. These appear to be the original tuners. In fact everything on the guitar appears to be original. The bluebird logo type is embossed and painted. Recently, after I sold this guitar as a matter of fact, I discovered that it is actually an Oscar Schmidt instrument.
