The peg head is slotted. The nut is made of wood. These appear to be the original tuners. In fact everything on the guitar appears to be original. The bluebird logo type is embossed and painted. Recently, after I sold this guitar as a matter of fact, I discovered that it is actually an Oscar Schmidt instrument.
