Earl's Guitars

19th Century French Parlor Guitar (Lacote style c.1890)

The back and sides are painted with a faux rosewood finish, another common practice on guitars of this period, as is this cone-shaped heel. The sides, underneath the faux rosewood, are also made from maple. The "guitar-shaped" peghead is another feature typical of Lacote era guitars. The guitar came with 5 pearwood friction tuning pegs. I found this set of ebony flamanco pegs to replace them.
