The solid brass tuners, which appear to be original, date this instrument anywhere from 1890 to 1920 or so. The tailpiece outline puts it closer to 1920. This is the only L&H guitar I own that actually has a Lyon & Healy manufacturing stamp. The tone of this instrument is similar to my Lyra (by Bruno ne Oscar Schmidt) parlor guitar - kind of a "Stella-esque" sound, almost banjo-like. But this guitar's tone is much deeper and fuller then the Lyra. I like this guitar so much that I have recently been using it exclusively for my outdoor engagements. That's why I decided to "trick it out" with the fancy inlaid pickguard.
