The Bluesbox Collection

Hand Made Russian Mandolin - probably made in the 1960's

I found this at a garage sale, the owner said she had picked it up on a trip to Russia in 1965. It has a shallow arched back and the pickguard is made from wood veneer. The piping around the pickguard is cheap fabric died with ink but the binding around the body is real wood inlay. It has a very bright tone and I use it as part of my Rennaisance Faire costume. I can play a few chords on it.
