I bought this out of a JC Penney's catalog for about $150 in 1989. This model is noteworthy for the fact that it was the first production guitar to come off the revived Gretch assembly line after the company re-opened that year. It features graphics which are unique to each instrument. It is cheaply constructed and is 3/4 size but plays very nicely and gets a surprisingly good sound. There were a limited number made and I happened to get the one with serial #100. Note that the peghead and body style are modeled after Danalectro solid bodies from the 50's and 60's. I have taken this guitar on trips out of town on several occasions and have never been embarrassed by it on stage. It's size makes it small enough to carry on and store in the overhead luggage compartment without raising the eyebrows of airline personnel. The back shows the autographs of the "Willburys" themselves.
