The Bluesbox Collection The back and sides are also solid mahogany. The guitar has a maple neck with a slight "V" profile. This unusual shape of the half-slotted peg head is what dates the guitar to the turn of the century through the early 1920's. This design was only used by Stromberg-Voisinet during that period. The back of the peg head shows clearly that the slots don't go all the way through.
Henry Kay Kuhrmeyer was secretary, treasurer and later president of the Stromberg-Voisinet company. In 1931 he renamed the company, using his own middle name, and built it into a powerhouse instrument manufacturing firm that lasted well into the 1960's.
