Yamaha C-20A Classical Guitar (c.1965)

I was looking for an inexpensive classical guitar of good quality and was despairing of ever finding such a beast when I came across this one. The solid cedar top is quite thin. The back and sides are covered in a thin mahogany veneer. The sides are solid birch underneath, while the inside of the back, harkening back to old-world craftsmanship, is constructed of the same cedar as the top. As a result the tone and projection of this guitar is remarkable for a budget instrument. The peg head sports the famous triple tuning fork Yamaha logo and a set of upscale tuners. This view through the sound hole shows the old style Yamaha label.
