Antoni Inoki was awarded the title by Vincent McMahon. Inoki held the following titles in conjunction with the WWF NEW JAPAN Martial Arts Title:
- The National Wrestling Federation (NWF) Heavyweight Title won on 06/26/75 from Tiger Jeet Singh in Tokyo, JAPAN. He lost the title to Stan Hansen on 02/08/80 in Tokyo, JAPAN
- The WWF World Heavyweight Title won on11/30/79 from Bob Backlund in Tokushima, JAPAN. He vacated the title on 12/06/79 after a controversial match with Backlund.
- The NWF Heavyweight Title won on 04/03/80 from Stan Hansen in Tokyo, JAPAN. The title was held-up on 04/17/81 after a match against Hansen in Kagoshima, JAPAN ended in a no-contest.
- The NWF Heavyweight Title on 04/23/81 in Tokyo. Inoki defeated Hansen in a rematch to win the held-up title in Tokyo, JAPAN. He abandoned the title immediately after the match to enter the International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP) Tournament.

Shota Chochoshivili won the title by knockout in the fifth round.

- The IWGP Heavyeight Title won on 08/19/90 from Big Van Vader {Leon White} in Tokyo, JAPAN in 00:11:51. Lost on 12/26/90 to Tatsumi Fujinami in Hamamatsu, JAPAN.
- The IWGP Heavyeight Title won on 01/04/92 from Tatsumi Fujimami in Tokyo, JAPAN. Lost on 08/16/92 to The Great Muta in Fukuoka, JAPAN. The match against Muta was for both the IWGP Title and The Martial Arts Title.
5.The Great Muta {Keiji Muto}

The Great Muta held the following title in conjunction to the WWF NEW JAPAN Martial Arts Title:
- The IWGP Heavyweight Title won on 08/16/92 in Fukuoka, JAPAN from Riki Choshu.
