A cult film, also commonly referred to as a cult classic, is a film that has acquired a cult following. Inclusive definitions allow for major studio productions, especially box office bombs, while exclusive definitions focus more on obscure, transgressive films shunned by the mainstream. Many Cult Film involve Youth Exploitation, which refers to a specific genre of propaganda films, frequently having a semi-documentary nature and usually taking the form of a morality play with young people falling into "evil ways" due to the influence of drugs, sex and exploitation by shady, older characters.
