Daniel Hale "Dan" Rowan (July 22, 1922 – September 22, 1987) was an American comedian. Thomas Richard Martin (January 30, 1922 – May 24, 2008), known professionally as Dick Martin, was an American comedian and director. After being discharged from duty in World War II, Dan Rowan returned to California where he teamed up with Dick Martin and started a comedy nightclub act. The team appeared on television several times, but it was not until the critical success of a summer special in 1967 that they found fame on Laugh-In. Later they appeared on the series of The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast specials.
