Fresh Start - Season 3, Episode 12 - 20 Nov. 1953 - Despondent shop girl Norma Bailey decides to end it all by gas asphyxiation. Before it can take effect, a young man breaks in and stops it, but he's there by chance, running from the police, pursuing him for a stolen diamond bracelet.
